The Aqueducts

The aqueducts leading water from 'Solomon's Pools' to the Temple Mount continued in use during the Early Islamic period, with some changes. These aqueducts supplied water to the many cisterns located on Temple Mount and throughout the city. The builders of the Umayyad 'palaces' restored the Second Temple conduits and used them not only as drinking water, but also for irrigation.
